High Holiday Appeal
During this busy holiday season, marked by many offerings here at Ohev, your gift to the High Holiday Appeal helps power us forward.
Give today! Ohev is launching a composting pilot initiative this week, to run through the end of the year. We are hopeful to build this into a regular shul practice and ask for your help in ensuring its success. This is a small step we can take towards reducing our environmental impact as a community. We’re still in the building phase so we’d love your feedback and support as we transition to this new model.
Thank you to those supporting this effort, including our Green Committee, the shul board, and the upcoming bnai mitzvah families who have come together to sponsor this initial kickoff. This includes, in the order of simcha, the Epstein-Levisohn, Silverberg-Gershman, Wolkenfeld, Kurtzer-Ellenbogen, and Gremont-Baer families. Contact Reuven Walder (email) if you’d like to help this initiative grow.
YCT Scholars-in-Residence
Please join us for an uplifting Shabbat as we welcome Rabbi Dov Linzer, the President & Rosh HaYeshiva of YCT, and Rabbanit Devorah Zlochower, the Mashgicha Ruchanit & Senior Scholar for YCT, along with a number of YCT students, on Shabbat Parshat Noach, October 20-21. We will kick off the Shabbaton with Kabbalat Shabbat at 6pm followed by a communal Shabbat dinner (registration required), followed by a post-dinner shiur and dessert open to the entire community at approximately 8:45pm. To register for the dinner, please click.
