Shabbat Morning Youth Groups - We welcome all children under Bar/Bat Mitzvah to remain in the sanctuary or else participate in youth group programming.
Tots (ages 18M - 3 years): Babysitting available beginning at 9:15am in the Tots Room. Tot Shabbat will begin at 11:00am. Parent participation is encouraged for this family program, but babysitting will remain available and ongoing until the end of services. Shabbat Club (Prek4-Kindergarten): 10:15am in the Chadar Tikvah. J-Minyan (1st - 5th grade): 10:15am in the Chapel.
Light Israeli kiddush (pareve) is sponsored by the community in solidarity with the hostages currently being held in Gaza. Pesach Seder Hosting One of the best known lines of the Haggada is, “Let all who are hungry, come and eat.” Part of our celebration of Pesach involves welcoming guests into our homes for sedarim and meals. If you would like to host or be hosted for sedarim, please fill out the forms below.

Food Drives Yad Yehuda Food donation bin in Ohev lobby! There is a bin in the Ohev lobby this week to accept donations of Passover food that Yad Yehuda can distribute next week to their clients. If you do Passover shopping this week, throw some extra items into your shopping cart, and drop them off at the shul. We will bring over any donated items to the Yad Yehuda building tomorrow, Friday, April 12th.
You can combine a donation drop-off with attendance at weekday tefilot for a double-mitzvah!
Capital Kosher Pantry. This is for kosher for pesach food for people in the broader community. Foods that would be helpful (all certified kosher l’Pesach) are: -Canned olives and pickles -Dried fruit -Nuts -Tea bags *Deadline is Friday, April 19th*.
Shepherd's Table Shepherd's Table Daily Meals program serves guests at Progress Place, their building at 8106 Georgia Ave. Beyond the Table distributes ready-to-go, drive-through (or walk-up) dinners throughout the week at sites in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County.
Ohev Sholom will be collecting any unopened, non expired, non perishable food such as canned goods, pasta, oil, flour, etc. Shepherd's table will use these ingredients to prepare meals. *Deadline is Friday, April 19th*.
EVENTS!
Ohev’s Open Beit Midrash Night Join us again this Monday night for Mincha/Ma’ariv at 7:30 PM followed at 8:00 PM for an hour of learning to dedicate to chavruta-style Torah learning.
All levels are welcome. Learn a text of your choice or a prepared topic (this week: continued hilchot pesach). Come with your own chavruta or pair up when you arrive. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
Kiddush in Solidarity with the Hostages On April 13th we will have an Israeli style light Kiddush in solidarity with the hostages currently being held in Gaza. Families of hostages have compiled favorite dessert recipes of those held hostage. We will bake with them in mind and share their stories to keep them close to our hearts. COMMUNITY RESOURCES
For Youth Professionals, Parents, and Community Members: Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is designed to help adults in the lives of adolescents learn how to assist a youth who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Join BBYO Center for Adolescent Wellness and earn your certificate in YMHFA on April 18 from 9:30 am – 2 pm at the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Click hereto register and learn more.
