Shabbat Morning Youth Groups - To maintain decorum and safety and security, we ask that all children under Bar/Bat Mitzvah remain in the sanctuary during davening or else participate in youth group programming. Thank you for your cooperation.
Tots (ages 18M - 3 years): Babysitting available beginning at 9:15am in the Tots Room. Tot Shabbat will begin at 11:00am. Parent participation is encouraged for this family program, but babysitting will remain available and ongoing until the end of service
Shabbat Club (Prek4-Kindergarten): 10:15am in the Chadar Tikvah. J-Minyan (1st - 5th grade): 10:15am in the Chapel.

Thursday, July 25th at 8:00 PM Co-sponsored by Ohev Sholom - Young Israel Shomrei Emunah hosts the community in welcoming Varda and Eitan Morell who will speak about their son Maoz z"l, who fell in battle in Gaza.
They will share the inspirational story of his heroism in life and death in the context of three generations of Jewish survival and strength. More info here!

Scholar-in-Residence Rabbi Zach Truboff Shabbat, August 2 & 3 - Ohev Sholom is honored to welcome Rabbi Zach Truboff who will be joining us as a Scholar-in-Residence for Shabbat Parashat Matot-Masei, August 2 & 3. Rabbi Truboff will be speaking multiple times over Shabbat and we invite the community to join. More information is availablehere.
Tzohar & Teen Beit Midrash - Partnership Between Ohr Kodesh Congregation and Ohev Sholom Congregation Tzohar is an innovative program that combines classical Jewish education with an introduction to college-level Jewish Studies coursework.

Shivah & Minyan information for Laurie Pfeffer Gershman z"l Please note that minyanim will relocate from Ohev to the shivah home on Sunday - Thursday morning, and Monday - Wednesday afternoon.

Sunday evening: The Gershman home (11324 Struttmann Terrace, Rockville) 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM (Mincha/Maariv at 8 PM; please note that there also will be minyan at Ohev Sholom)
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, shiva will take place at 7809 Morningside Dr. NW at the following times: 7:15 AM - 9:30 AM (Shacharit at 7:15 AM) 1 - 3 PM 7 - 8:30 PM (Mincha/Maariv at 8 PM)
On Thursday, Shacharit at 7:15am followed by a walk to conclude shiva (also at 7809 Morningside Dr. NW).
Like many communities, we rely on volunteers to help make Ohev such a vibrant shul. Please consider getting involved by joining (or helping to lead) one of our committees. Whether you have several hours a week or even a few hours a month, there is an opportunity for you to volunteer and help make a difference in our community. More info here!
